Non-Discrimination Policy
At Expedition Readiness and Safety Academy (ERSA), we are committed to fostering a professional, inclusive, and respectful environment for all participants, staff, instructors, and partners. Our mission is to prepare individuals and teams for high-stakes expeditions and operations, and we believe that success in these environments is rooted in teamwork, trust, and mutual respect.
In accordance with the Ontario Human Rights Code and all applicable laws, ERSA does not tolerate discrimination or harassment of any kind. This includes, but is not limited to, discrimination based on:
- Race or ethnicity
- Color
- National origin or ancestry
- Religion or spiritual beliefs
- Gender, gender identity, or gender expression
- Sexual orientation
- Age
- Physical or mental disability
- Marital or family status
- Socioeconomic background
- Veteran status
- Any other characteristic protected by local, provincial, or federal law
All students, instructors, staff, contractors, and visitors are expected to conduct themselves with professionalism and integrity. Whether during training, field operations, or in virtual settings, everyone at ERSA is expected to promote a culture where individuals feel safe, respected, and supported in their learning and development.
Reporting and Accountability
If any participant, staff member, or guest experiences or witnesses behavior that violates this policy—including harassment, bullying, or exclusion—they are encouraged to report it to Jason Figliano, Co-Owner and Safety Director, as soon as possible.
Jason can be contacted:
- In person
- By email at contact@mrjason.ca
All concerns will be addressed promptly, discreetly, and with full confidentiality. Jason will meet with the individual to gather relevant information and determine an appropriate response. Depending on the situation, this may include education, mediation, or disciplinary action up to and including removal from the program or facility.
The reporting party will be kept informed throughout the process and supported to ensure their continued safety and comfort in our programs.
At ERSA, we are committed to continuous learning, accountability, and leadership. We regularly review and improve our policies and training materials to uphold our core values of safety, equity, operational excellence, and mutual respect.
